WEAPON wielding robbers threatened staff during an armed robbery early on Sunday morning.
Wearing brightly coloured jackets, two masked men targeted the McColl’s shop on Elwick Road in Hartlepool at around 7am.
Armed with weapons, the intruders threatened staff and demanded money from the tills before making off with around £2,800.
One man, described as white and 6ft tall, was wearing a fluorescent yellow jacket and a white mask, grey hat, dark trousers and gloves. He was carrying a grey and black backpack.
The second robber, who is also white and around the same height, was wearing an orange jacket, black balaclava, dark trousers and gloves.
There were no injuries as a result of the robbery.
Police are now appealing for information in relation to the incident.
