A MAN has appeared at court in connection with two knifepoint robberies in Darlington.
Matthew Ironside, 36, of Paddock Lane, Darlington, is charged with two counts of robbery and three counts of being in possession of a knife.
He appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Saturday morning where he was remanded in custody. He will appear at Teesside Crown Court on March 12.
The charges relate to two alleged robberies in Darlington.
The first incident was at the Majestic Wine Warehouse on Grange Road at around 2.55pm on Tuesday and the second at Ladbrokes on Neasham Road at around 10.40am on Thursday.
