A MAN grabbed a 12-year-old girl on a cycle path early on Tuesday morning.
The girl was making her way along Claxton Close, Stockton, at about 8am when she saw a man standing near a gate at the beginning of a cycle path which leads to Darlington Lane.
She continued walking, but the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards the cycle path.
As some other children approached, he let go of the girl and walked away up the path towards Darlington Lane.
The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late 40s, short but of large build, with a full beard and wearing a plain grey T-shirt and black tracksuit bottoms.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information, is asked to call PC Russell Boon from Stockton Neighbourhood Policing Team on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org
