A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a York man on Sunday.
Daniel Thomas Reed, 19, of Strensall Road, York, appeared before magistrates in York this afternoon for a two-minute hearing.
Reed - wearing a grey tracksuit - spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
He is accused of murdering Shaun Skelton, whose body was found in a flat at Chancery House in Holgate Road, in the early hours of Monday.
No application for bail was entered, and Reed was remanded into custody.
He is due to appear before Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.
Floral tributes and a police guard remain at Chancery House, and North Yorkshire Police have today renewed their appeal for information about the incident.
Anyone with information should contact them on 101, press option two and ask for the Major Crime Unit.
Alternatively, phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
