POLICE are appealing for witnesses after crops were damaged in a field

The incident happened at Park Head Farm in Netherwitton, near Morpeth, Northumberland, between 2am and 8am on Wednesday, February 22.

A vehicle from Seaham, County Durham, was driven over an arable fields causing damage to growing crops.

The vehicle, a silver coloured Isuzu Trooper, has been seized by police suspected to be been used in crime.

It was abandoned in the field where it had been stuck in the mud and the occupants made off.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious./
