A MAN who died after being found seriously injured in a Sunderland Cemetery has been named.
Andrew Scott, 42, of Falkland Road, Ford Estate, was discovered in the grounds of the Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, in Chester Road, on Thursday.
Police investigating the death have said there was no one else involved in the incident.
A police spokesman said last night: "Throughout the day detectives have been carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances around his death and a post mortem has been carried out.
"Police are now satisfied there has been no third party involvement and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
A section of the cemetery was cordoned off to allow for a full investigation of the location to take place.
Extra officers were in the area yesterday morning speaking to local residents, carrying out house to house enquiries and reassuring local people.
