A VAN driver is being held on suspicion of drink-driving after striking a lamp post in Stockton.
Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit were called to the incident early on Sunday morning.
Officers said the driver was held on allegations he was more than three times the drink-drive limit and had no insurance.
He was taken to a police station until he was fit enough to be questioned.
