TWO men and one woman have been arrested after a collision in Newcastle city centre.
At around 4.36pm on Friday police received a report of a stolen Audi A3 motor vehicle in Gateshead.
"Police attended the area but officers lost sight of the vehicle as it made its way into Newcastle city centre," said a spokeswoman for Northumbria Police.
"A short time later police received a report that the Audi had been involved in a collision with another vehicle on Market Street.
"Officers attended and those involved - two men aged 37 and 31 and a 27-year-old woman - were arrested.
"They remain in police custody and enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
Nobody was seriously injured in the collision but the road was closed in both directions for a short period of time.
The road has since been fully re-opened and traffic is beginning to clear in the area.
- Anyone who saw the incident, or has information that may help police, should call 101 quoting reference number 636 18/11/16.
