A NORTH Yorkshire man wanted on recall to prison has been arrested.

Convicted burglar Scott Stephen Watson, 27, who had links to Scarborough, Ryedale and Middlesbrough, was wanted on recall to prison after breaching his prison release licence.

He had been released from prison in March this year having been jailed for 52 weeks for burgling a house in Lowdale Avenue, Scarborough.

Watson breached his prison release licence after he was arrested and charged with a string of alleged theft of food from shops in the Scarborough area in August and September. As a result, the Probation Service authorised a warrant for his arrest and recall to prison for failing to abide by his prison release licence of not committing any offences.

North Yorkshire Police recently put out a public appeal to try and locate him and last night arrested him in Scarborough (Wednesday, September 21).

He has also been charged with the theft of a television from Sainsburys on Falsgrave Road in Scarborough on August 30.
