A MAN has been arrested after a collision between a BMW 320D and a 40-year-old female pedestrian.

The incident happened at around 2:19am on Saturday, July 30, on Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough.

The pedestrian was taken to James Cook University Hospital with head injuries and a fractured pelvis. She remains in hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to stop, dangerous driving, no insurance and for not having a driving licence. The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
