CLEVELAND Police have extended the detention of the three men arrested on suspicion of murder and aggravated burglary in connection with the death of 50-year-old Lawrence French from Middlesbrough.
"The fourth man, a 66-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods has been bailed pending further enquiries," said a spokeswoman for the force on Saturday.
Mr French collapsed and died suddenly in a police station after apparently being burgled.
He entered Middlesbrough Police Station at 9.30pm on Wednesday and began to speak to staff before collapsing on the floor.
Despite attempts from police staff, officers and paramedics he was pronounced dead a short time later at Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital.
A post mortem examination was carried out on Thursday evening.
