POLICE have revealed the details of a spate of suspected shoplifting incidents across the North-East.

CCTV cameras caught six men and women inside supermarkets and shops across Darlington, Durham, and Bishop Auckland throughout April and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The first suspect was picked up by security cameras inside Sainsbury’s, in Durham’s Arnison Centre, on Monday, April 18.

Anyone with information on his identity is urged to contact the police by calling 101 or by emailing caughton.camera@durham.pnn.police.uk, quoting incident reference ED1602036.

A separate Durham incident has also left police appealing for information after a second suspect was filmed inside Iceland on Monday, April 4.

Police can be contacted using the same phone number and email address, quoting incident reference ED1601751.

Police would also like to trace a man after a suspected shoplifting from Darlington’s Co-op supermarket.

He was pictured inside the store on Monday, April 11, and information about his identity can be passed on quoting incident reference DJ1602834.

A further two men were caught on CCTV in Bishop Auckland’s B&Q on Monday, April 18, and they are wanted in connection with a suspected shoplifting from the store.

Anyone who recognises one or both of the men can call the police using 101, or by emailing caughton.camera@durham.pnn.police.uk, quoting incident reference SA1601276.

A woman was also picked up by security cameras inside House of Fraser, in Darlington, on Sunday, April 17, and police would like to speak to her after a suspected shoplifting incident.

Information on her identity can be forwarded to police using the same contact information, quoting incident reference DJ1603027.
