TWO people have been arrested after a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning.

The victim was stabbed in his back and stomach and was rushed to James Cook Hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

A man, aged 32, and woman, aged 29, both from Darlington, were arrested following the attack and police believe all those involved are known to each other.

Officers were called to Foxglove Close, off Glebe Road, to investigate a ‘domestic incident’ at 2.15am on Friday (January 29).

A Durham Police spokesman said: “A local man and woman, aged 32 and 29 respectively, have been arrested on suspicion of causing actual body harm and are currently assisting officers with their enquiries.”

“All those involved were known to each other and they are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.

“However anyone with information should call 101 and ask for Det Sgt Sean Jackson, Darlington CID.”

Police tweeted about the attack at 4.17am.
