THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs in raids across the region.
Officers from the North East Regional Specialist Operations Unit (NERSOU) carried out raids this morning at 10 addresses in Peterlee, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
Two men, aged 39 and 27, were arrested in Peterlee and a 42-year-old man was detained in Sunderland on suspicion of drug trafficking offences.
A 43-year-old man from Middlesbrough, who was arrested prior to today's raids, remains on bail.
Detective Superintendent Alan Veitch said more arrests would follow across the region.
He added: "This is an excellent example of collaborative work across the three forces in targeting criminals who have no boundaries in their offending.
"It sends out a message that we will work together to tackle these organised crime groups and bring them to justice.
"And the work doesn't stop here - together we will continue to breakdown these organised groups across our region and beyond.
“Often serious and organised offenders don't just operate in one area, but we will track these people down to wherever our enquiries take us and ensure action is taken."
