A MAN is facing a prison sentence after pleading guilty today to abducting a teenage girl and having sexual activity with her.
Mark Cope, 26, from Birmingham, appeared at Teesside Crown Court via a live video-link from Holme House Prison in Stockton.
He admitted abducting a child by detaining a girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, this month.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with the same underage girl by touching her while “not reasonably believing she was 16 or over” on the same date.
His barrister, Tamara Pawson, told the court: “Mr Cope has no previous convictions, and he is fully aware of the obvious sentence.
"He is obviously remanded in custody and there will be no application."
Judge Sean Morris told Cope, of De Montford House, Shirrall Grove, Birmingham: “You’ll be sentenced by this court in October 13.
“In the meantime you’re to stay in custody.”
