TWO men have been charged after it was alleged violence broke out at a North-East barbers shop.

On Wednesday, September 9, a number of windows, doors and mirrors are said to have been damaged during the incident at the Ahmed Barbers premises in Stamfordham Road in Westerhope, Newcastle.

A man was also allegedly assaulted during the incident.

"Two men have been charged in connection with the incident," said a spokesman for Northumbria Police.

"Craig Jason Keltie, 33, of Brittania Place in Elswick and Trevor Charles Harrison, 29, of Deanham Gardens in Fenham have both been charged with affray, possession of a knife or pointed article, assault ABH and criminal damage.

"They appeared at Newcastle Magistrates Court on September 14 and 16 respectively and both have been remanded in custody until their next appearances."
