A MAN suffered a fractured hip after he was struck by a car which then drove off.
The incident happened around 9.30 pm on Saturday, September 12 on Thompson Street East, Darlington.
The car, described as being a small silver hatchback, reversed into a 29-year-old man who was walking along Thompson Street East heading towards his home in Davison Road. it then drove off.
He sustained the hip fracture and was treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: "Initial police enquiries suggest a member of the public may have witnessed this Incident and then spoken to the injured man, however no details were obtained.
"Officers are therefore keen for this person to come forward and contact PC Paul Taylor, at Darlington police office on 101. The incident number was 0428 of September 12."
