A PRISON officer from the North-East has been arrested today by police probing allegations of misconduct.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police in London said: "Officers from Operation Elveden have this morning, Tuesday, 15 September, arrested a 45-year old man for misconduct in a public office (contrary to common law).
"The man, a serving prison officer, was arrested at an address in Hartlepool.
"He remains in custody at this time."
