POLICE are appealing for information after a man was racially abused by two women.

Officers were called to reports that a 31-year-old man had been verbally abused as he walked his dog in Mowbray Park, Sunderland, on Thursday, May 7.

The incident is believed to have happened between 2.30pm and 2.35pm where two women shouted at the victim in an unprovoked attack.

Police are now appealing for help from the public and have released descriptions of the two women to help identify them.

The first woman officers would like to trace is described as being in her mid 20s, of slim build, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 9in tall, and has short dyed blond hair.

She also has a piercing to each side of her nose, bottom lip and several in her ears. She was wearing blue skinny jeans and had a small brown dog on a lead.

The second female is also described as being in her mid 20s, between 5ft 11in and 6ft 1in tall, average build with brown eyes and long brown hair. She was wearing a waist length jacket and black leggings.

Officers are also keen to trace a man who was walking with the two women at the time of the incident but did not take part in the abuse.
