POLICE searching for missing Hebburn man Craig Millward are appealing for help from three witnesses.

Officers carrying out searches for 24-year-old Mr Millward are keen to hear from witnesses who may have seen him in the early hours of the day he disappeared, Tuesday, May 5.

Police say he left Popworld in Newcastle City Centre at around 12.05am in the early minutes of Tuesday, May 5.

He was seen a short time later at 1.30am, on Green Lane in Gateshead, he was seen walking towards the cycle path on the riverside.

Police and search and rescue officers have carried out extensive searches in this area and officers have also been carrying out house to house enquiries to speak to residents to ask if they have seen Mr Millward.

Officers have been reviewing available CCTV and identified three potential key witnesses who may have passed him - the driver of a white van and two cyclists on the cycle path near to the Elephant on the Tyne.

Chief Inspector Sarah Pitt said: "We have CCTV images which show Craig walking down Green Lane onto a cycle path next to the Elephant on the Tyne at around 1.31am on the morning of Tuesday, May 5.

"Shortly after, at around 1.43am, CCTV shows a white van on Green Lane followed by two cyclists who ride down Green Lane on to the cyclepath that Craig was seen on CCTV to be walking down.

"We're keen for the driver of the van or the two cyclists to contact us. They may have been on their way to work and passed Craig and could have vital information to help our enquiries."
