POLICE have arrested a man over a stabbing incident after he they appealed for him to hand himself in.

Detectives asked the public to help urgently trace the 36-year-old suspect after a man received injuries to his back in the stabbing, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire on December 17.

Officers said it was a “targeted and isolated incident” and the wider community were not at risk.

On Sunday (December 21) North Yorkshire Police said the 36-year-old had been arrested in Northallerton.

He is currently in police custody and being questioned over the attack.
