AN 11-year-old girl was followed by a man who passed her on her way home from school.
The girl was followed home this afternoon in the Glendale Road area of Middlesbrough.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: "The girl was walking home from school at 2.30pm and was close to the Endeavour Public House on Glendale Road when a man walking in the opposite direction turned around after passing her and began to follow her.
"He followed her towards Tollesby Road and then onto Saltersgill Avenue at which point she ran off towards home."
She described the man as black, around 27-years-old with bushy eyebrows and very short, balding hair. He was wearing all black clothes and white trainers.
Anyone who saw this man or knows anything about the incident is asked to contact PC Carl Drinkel on Cleveland Police’s 101 number.
