A MAN has been treated for an ear injury after being bitten in an unprovoked attack.
A police spokesman said the 22-year-old victim was was walking along Linhope Road in West Denton, Newcastle, in the early hours of yesterday (SAT) when he was approached by two men.
One of the men walked off, while the second came over to him and assaulted him, punching him and biting his ear.
The injured man managed to get away and called for help.
He was taken to the city’s Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatment.
The offender is described being aged 21 to 22-years-old, 6 ft tall, of slim build, with short dark hair and a pale complexion. He was wearing a blue hoodie and tracksuit bottoms.
Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the area, between 1am and 1.30am and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to contact them.
