A MAN has been arrested after a police drugs raid uncovered 102 cannabis plants in a County Durham house.
Officers forced entry to the property on South View, in Shildon, at 8.30am today (Wednesday, April 15) following an intelligence tip-off.
They found 53 mature and 49 junior plants growing at the house. The sole male occupant was arrested but he has not yet been charged.
PC Dave Littlefair, of Shildon police, said: “We don’t tolerate the growing of cannabis in Shildon. This was a superb result.
“We act upon any intelligence that we receive regarding drugs and we are getting good results like this one.
“The courts don’t tolerate drugs either and people do ultimately end up serving prison sentences.”
