A DOCTOR has appeared before magistrates charged with five counts of sexual assault involving two girls under the age of 13.
Magdy Boutros Fahmy Eskander was a consultant in orthopaedics and trauma at Darlington Memorial Hospital when the alleged sexual assaults occurred between January and October 2011.
Mr Eskander, 55, of Chilton, near Ferryhill in County Durham, indicated a not guilty plea to all five charges at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court today (Friday, August 23).
Magistrates declined jurisdiction and the case was committed to Durham Crown Court on September 6.
Mr Eskander received unconditional bail.
