A FREE supercar event takes place this weekend on Stockton High Street.

The Supercar Saturday event will feature the latest models, plus racing and classic and vintage cars.

The free, family-friendly event on Saturday between 10am and 4pm will showcase up to 30 vehicles including sports cars, American muscle cars and prestige cars.

And at midday there will be a two-lap convoy around the High Street, allowing visitors to hear and see the vehicles in action.

Dancers and character mascots will entertain the crowd during the event, which is organised by JPC Specialist Motorsport and supported by Stockton Borough Council.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “We are thrilled to welcome such a spectacle of high performance motor vehicles and hope residents and those further afield will enjoy this free event.

“Stockton High Street is playing host to some very exciting events and this festival of cars is just a taste of all the exciting things we have planned for the coming year.”

Vehicle access to Stockton High Street will be limited during the convoy at 12 noon, and the High Street car park will be closed from 6.30pm on Friday, May 4 until 6pm on Saturday, May 5.
