AN appeal has been launched to find photographs of a damaged panel at Stockton's Globe Theatre, which is undergoing refurbishment.

One of the two Art Deco sculptured panels in the auditorium is complete, but the other was badly damaged after a ventilation grate was installed over it some years ago.

The design team working on the venue are keen to know what the damaged panel looked like.

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “It is such a shame this beautiful piece of art was damaged to install a ventilation grate at some point in the past.

“The panels are among many historic features in the Globe which is undergoing a fantastic transformation.

“We are urging anybody with pictures of the damaged panel to get in touch and remind us of what they were like in their former glory.”
