A NEW appointment has been made to a council's executive team.
Middlesbrough councillor Denise Rooney has joined Mayor Dave Budd’s front bench team with responsibility for environment and commercial services.
Speaking about her new role, Cllr Rooney said: “I’ve always taken a close interest in the department, and it’s one whose work is especially valued across our communities
“These are exciting and challenging times and I’m looking forward to getting involved in this vital area.”
Cllr Rooney takes over the portfolio from Cllr Tracy Harvey who is stepping down to pursue other projects.
Middlesbrough Mayor Dave Budd said: “Denise brings a wealth of experience to this key role which touches the lives of every resident of the borough.
“She is a welcome new addition , and I look forward to working closely with her.
“I’d also like to thank Tracy for her dedication and commitment over recent years and wish her all the best for the future.”
