FINAL garden waste collections of the year will take place this month in County Durham.
Residents who have taken up the service from Durham County Council (DCC) will receive their last collection on their usual collection day from Tuesday, November 7, to Friday, November 17.
People can check their collection calendar or visit the My Durham section of the council’s website, and enter their postcode, to find out the collection date.
Cllr Brian Stephens, Cabinet member for neighbourhoods and partnerships, said: “Although this is now ending over the winter months, the service will resume next spring and people should look out for further details online.”
Any garden waste which accumulates during the winter period can still be recycled at Household Waste Recycling Centres.
In the Teesdale area, collections are carried out by Teesdale Community Volunteers, also known as Rotters.
Residents in this area can call 01833 690 022 or visit rotters.org for details
