MORE details have been announced of how people can have their say on devolution proposals for the North-East.

Last week, the North East Combined Authority (Neca) and the Government signed a proposed agreement to devolve powers over transport, housing, planning and employment and skills, plus a £30m-a-year investment fund, to a directly elected North-East mayor from May 2017.

Earlier this week, Durham County Council announced it would poll its residents on the proposals early next year.

Additionally, consultation events will be held across the Neca area, which covers County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland and two million people.

The first will be: at Haven Point, South Shields on Thursday (November 5) from 3.30pm to 5.30pm; at Gateshead Civic Centre on Monday, November 9, from 11am to 1pm; at Durham County Hall on Monday, November 9, from 6pm to 8pm; Woodhorn Museum and Archives, Ashington, on Tuesday, October 10, from 5pm; a venue to be confirmed in Newcastle on Thursday, November 12, from 1pm; and the Q12 Building, Quorum Business Park, North Shields, on Monday, November 16, from 6.30pm.
