LATE night shoppers in Darlington town centre are being catered for with special parking offers starting on Thursday.
Darlington Borough Council is implementing a newly agreed parking offer which will see all council-run car parks and on-street parking bays free of charge after 5pm on Thursdays.
A number of town centre businesses are committed to providing late night shopping every Thursday evening and the council is keen to support the initiative.
The council is also reinstating the free after 3pm offer on Thursdays throughout December. Parking will also be free on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and Sunday, January 1.
The Thursday car parking offers were agreed by Cabinet on Tuesday, September 13. The offer is a pilot scheme and will be reviewed after its completion.
