FUNDRAISERS are urging Darlington residents to realise where there's a will, there's a way to support their local hospice.
As part of Hospice Care Week, two North-East law firms – Macks Solicitors and Key Legal – are supporting St Teresa’s Hospice, Darlington, by drawing up wills for free in return for a donation during the Make a Will appeal, which runs until Sunday (October 18).
The practices, which have offices in Darlington, are asking for clients to donate £80 for a single will or £120 for a double will for couples, all of which will go straight to the hospice.
Hospice chief executive Jane Bradshaw said: “Both Macks and Key Legal are friends of the hospice and we are extremely grateful for their involvement in the Make a Will appeal.”
Lynda Monks, a solicitor with Macks, added: “We prefer this campaign because the proceeds go to a local hospice and it’s this important community-based service that we want to support.”
St Teresa’s needs to raise £2.2m a year to fund the services it provides.
