COUNCILLORS will discuss whether to introduce an extra wheelie bin to households in Darlington, a two per cent increase in council tax and the future of the Head of Steam museum tomorrow night (Wednesday).

Residents are being urged to attend a meeting of Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet to have their say on the proposals for the authority’s next budget.

The meeting has been moved from its usual town hall location to Central Hall, to the rear of the Dolphin Centre to allow people to attend and listen to the debate.

Among the items on the agenda are the Medium Term Financial Plan, which determines the council’s budget for the coming year, and plans to introduce fortnightly bin collections around the town, which could lead to the introduction of a second wheeled bin.

The meeting will start at 5pm.
