"MY dad and uncle both work in the industry, which is how I became interested. I liked the sound of it because it is hands-on, " said Shawn.
"It is problem-solving and practical, which I enjoy.
"I would be a good employee because I enjoy the work, and I have excellent time-keeping.
"I am enthusiastic, with good communication skills. If I'm not sure about something, I will speak up.
"I am good at working in a team - I play cricket for Willington, so I have developed this skill well. I am also good at working independently.
"I am a very hands-on and practical person - I often help my dad around the house with DIY and enjoy problem-solving.
"I had 100 per cent attendance all the way through five years of secondary school, which gives a good indication of my level of commitment to my education and work, as well as my health.
"I would really just like a chance to show an employer what I can do."
