DAVID Curry has been appointed as Operations Director at Go North East, the region's largest bus company.

He joined the company in 1987 and quickly progressed to the role of operations coordinator, then depot manager at the company's Washington and Stanley depots.

In 1998 he became divisional manager north with responsibility for five depots, rising to operations manager in May 2007.

He will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the largest bus company in North East England, with 1,600 drivers and 700 vehicles.

Mr Curry, 41, lives in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, with his wife Nicola and children Rebecca, Keiran and Annie.
