POLICE are renewing their appeal for a missing Sunderland man, one week after his last known sighting.

Paul Wilkinson, 38, was last seen leaving his home address in Marley Potts on the morning of Sunday May 13, and has not been seen since.

His family are continuing to appeal for him to contact them.

He is described as being 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build with short dark purpley black hair. When he left he was wearing a short cream coat, a black shirt with a flower design, dark blue jeans and yellow Flossy plimsolls.

Last Thursday, his wife and children appealed for him to contact them. Today, his mum and brother are also appealing for him to get in contact.

His mother, Maureen Wilkinson, said: "Paul, it doesn't matter where you are but get in touch. You don't have to come home if you don't want to but please get in touch just to let us know that you are OK and safe and well. We miss you and love you very much. Love Mam and family."

His brother, Tommy Wilkinson, said: "Paul, please come home, we are all worried sick about you, just get in touch with someone to let us know your safe, we will keep looking for you until we find you.

"If you're just wanting time on your own to think about things get in contact with police just so we can rest and know you're safe from danger. If anyone has seen Paul or had any contact with him please contact police."

Police are continuing to search for him.

Superintendent Jim Napier, of Sunderland Area Command, said: "It's now been over a week since Paul was last seen and his family are increasingly anxious to hear from him and hear that he is ok.

"We already know that he left home with very little money and without his medication, since he left we haven't had any confirmed sightings of him.

"I really would urge anyone who knows where he is or Paul himself to contact and reassure his family he is ok."

Anyone with who sees Paul Wilkinson or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number.
