RECORDING equipment was stolen from the charity-run Auckland Radio Hospital at Bishop Auckland Hospital overnight on Tuesday, April 24.
Entry to the studio was gained via an insecure window and a Zoom H4 handheld digital audio recorder, worth about £300, was taken from a locker which had been forced open.
Chris Nisbet, trustee of Auckland Hospital Radio, said: "Our team of volunteers work hard to keep the hospital radio service running in Bishop Auckland. We are all shocked and appalled, that someone can target a charity in this way. We are working with Durham Police and hospital management to increase security of the station."
Witnesses should call Bishop Auckland police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
