Darlington are gearing up for their final game of the season on Saturday, but Craig Liddle will be on the sidelines today.

The manager travels to Bradford for the youth team's final fixture of the season and it will also be the team's last in their current division.

With funding scarce, Liddle is currently working on plans to keep the youth section alive should the club continue next season.

But he already knows that today's game will be Darlington's final fixture in the Football League Youth Alliance.

He said: "Hopefully there'll still be a youth team next season. We won't be in the Football League Youth Alliance, we'll be in the Conference Youth Alliance so that means games against Gateshead, Solihull and mainly college teams.

"The more we can keep the youth section together, the better foundations we've got for when we get back into the Football League."

A win today against second-bottom Bradford would mean finishing joint-third in the table along with Hartlepool United who have already completed their campaign.

Notts County, who beat Hartlepool 3-1 on Tuesday won the division from Doncaster Rovers by 15 points and one of their graduates will be part of Quakers' side when curtain comes down on Saturday.

Haydn Hollis has played eight games since moving on loan from Meadow Lane, and is keen to enjoy a long-awaited win before returning to his hometown club.

"With administration and everything happening off the pitch, I can't imagine what it's been like for the lads here," said Hollis, speaking to nottscountyfc.co.uk.

"It's taken its toll but despite the relegation everyone has been themselves and they're still putting everything into matches and every day in training.

"The club's brilliant and it's been very difficult for the fans and the players - they don't deserve it.

"We've not won since I've been here and I don't want to leave with no win on my record.

"We've got one game left and it would be nice to end my time there with three points - it would be good to get it for the fans, players and the manager."

Hollis is a leading contender to start Saturday's game, which kicks-off at 1pm, up front due to Drew Broughton's suspension.

He played as a forward following Broughton's dismissal last Saturday at Forest Green.
