TWO youngsters have been airlifted to hospital after being injured in separate horse riding accidents.
A teenager suffered serious injuries when she fell from her horse in the village of Quebec, near Durham City, shortly before 1pm today.
The girl, from Esh Winning, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle suffering from serious back injuries.
Just three hours later, a teenage boy suffered serious head injuries when he fell from a horse in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
The boy, from Whitby, was treated at the scene by doctors from the Great North Air Ambulance before being transferred to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
