PART of the A64 has been closed after a lorry collided with a bridge.
The accident happened at 2.25pm today and occurred approximately two miles west of Malton on the west-bound carriageway.
"The driver of the lorry was injured in the collision and the east-bound carriageway has been temporarily closed to allow the air ambulance to land," a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said.
"The west bound carriageway is closed to allow recovery of the casualty and vehicle and to allow collision investigators to examine the scene."
Any witnesses are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
