A DISABLED boy has been left immobile after thieves stole his father's car while he was defrosting the windscreen on his drive.
Police are hunting a stocky man who stole the mobility car from a driveway in Durham on Monday morning.
The incident happened on Salisbury Road at approximately 8.30am when the owner was deicing the car.
"The car, a Nissan Qashqai in black, was used to transport the owner's five-year-old disabled son to and from school," a spokesman for Durham Police said. "A specially-adapted wheelchair was also taken as it was in the boot of the car.
"The car also had a set of ladders strapped to the roof.
"The vehicle was last seen heading towards Canterbury Road."
Anyone with any information should contact Durham Police on 101. Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
