A MAN has been airlifted to hospital after suffering spinal injuries in a sledging accident.
The 55-year-old victim was injured in the accident in Terrington, near Malton, North Yorkshire, this afternoon.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is believed the man, who was with his family, was sledging down a steep bank at around 3.30pm when he came off his sledge at high speed.
A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance said: This afternoon we airlifted a 55-year-old man from Terrington, North Yorkshire, with spinal injuries after a sledging accident.
The man is being treated at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
