Woman, 68, suffers serious injuries in collision with car in Redcar

AN elderly woman has been flown to hospital after she was involved with an accident with a car.

The accident happened in Redcar at 10.30am today and involved a 68-year-old.

She sustained multiple injuries described as critical or life-threatening.

A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance said: "North East Ambulance paramedics requested the assistance of the helicopter and the doctor/paramedic crew worked with the land paramedics to assess and treat the lady. The lady was flown to James Cook Hospital."

Who the f**k is taking these photos?! I imagine the name will be published with the story in the actual paper. If someone took a photo of me whilst I was laid in the street having the worst moment of my life I would inflict some serious harm on them! Absolutely disgusting.

Think you need to get a grip. It's the journalist's job to record what happened.

It's not as though the picture shows a shortage of medical help or closeups is it?

GeordieB, are you seriously defending the fact that people are taking photos of victims in their most vulnerable position? I've seen it time and time again where people are seriously ill/injured and people stand around takign videos and photos. Utterly sick. And I'd give my left testicle if the Northern Echo have contacted this person to ask her opinion of the photo being published.
