Cheques and internet donations have flooded in from all over the country for the beleaguered Quakers. Many have come with touching messages of support. Joe Willis has compiled a selection of them.
HERE’S a bit towards your campaign, all the best from Pam (Spurs supporter) and a friend of a Darlington supporter.
A community-run club is surely the way forward. I’ve followed the club for 55 years, many thanks to the Echo for their support and let’s hope there is a happy outcome.
I sincerely hope you win your battle to survive, best wishes from a lifelong Newcastle fan – Frank.
Please accept this donation from two pensioners, one a supporter of DFC for 50 years, who are unable to attend home games now.
Please find donation enclosed. My husband and I hope you will survive.
We are Man Utd fans, but always follow Darlington to see how they are doing. Good luck – Two pensioners.
I know only too well what you are going through as my club, Plymouth, has only recently been a survivor of that situation. Good luck with your battle for survival.
Wish this donation could be more. As a Boro supporter I know only too well what it’s like for a club to be in this position. Just felt I have to do what little I can to help. Very best wishes – Dot.
I am definitely not rich, but I must try to help Darlington Football Club. I am 81 and my husband used to go to the matches. He died 17 years ago but I’m sure he would have helped. Good luck.
Hope this small donation helps save a long-established and well loved football club – Two Mackems and Black Cat fans.
Please accept this donation. Although I have no connection with the town of Darlington, I have supported Darlo for over 60 years. Only the loss of family would cause a bigger hole in my life.
Wishing the campaign to save the Quakers all the best.
I am a Tottenham and Barnet fan from London. I have no connection to Darlington or its football team.
However, I have been following your plight with interest and have been struck by the remarkable way in which football supporters from all round the country have rallied behind you. I have also been struck by how amazing and dedicated your fans are.
I wish you all the best.
Here’s wishing you well. We are on a pension but we all can do our little bit.
Years ago, my husband used to go to home matches, but now aged 80 is unable to attend.
My uncle was an early founder of football at Darlington and it would be a shame if the team was to end.
We are anxious to see the club survive. We are actually Fulham fans and we travel up to the Dales quite often and get our football fix by coming to the stadium to support Darlo.
Hope this donation will help towards saving Darlo.
All my family are football fans. We are now 70. God bless.
Please accept this small token on behalf of my grandson, a keen footballer. Keep the light shining.
I have been a Darlo supporter for 71 years. I have had some good times, especially at Feethams.
My wife and I would like to wish you good luck for the future.
I am a life-long Boro supporter, but Darlo have been my second team. Please find enclosed a cheque to help keep the club going as I feel it is very important to the town and fans.
Having supported DFC for over 60 years, it breaks my heart to see our club in this situation.
During the rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone after Saturday’s match I just stood with tears rolling down my cheeks. I desperately hope that Saturday was not just a one-off and that support may continue.

A lot has happened to this club in 128 years and it would be a crying shame for it's numerous fans (far and wide) to see it liquidated.
We have a once in a lifetime chance to make this club our own. Something that the fans can become even more closer to. Lets not let that opportunity slip through our fingers. Let's do it! Let's save Darlo!
