AS the show season nears its end Stokesley Show took centre stage at the weekend.

Thousands of people flocked to the town’s 151st agricultural show and they were not disappointed with the display.

As well as the usual livestock, handicrafts and horticultural produce entrants, visitors were treated to performances from Moto Stunts International, Kirbymoorside Brass Band, the Preston Gavioli steam driven organ and dozens of trade stands and exhibits.

The agricultural programme boasted record entries and the marquees housed hundreds of exhibits, including children’s work, photography, cookery and craftwork.

Show secretary Janette Hugill said the show had been a success with a good level of entries in all classes.

The stunt riders proved to be a popular attraction with two performances on the day.

Brian Ellis, who was at the show with his two sons, said: “I really enjoyed the motorbike display, it was exciting for the youngsters to watch.”
