A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after his van collided with a tractor pulling a trailer on a busy North-East road this morning.
The collision happened on the A19 northbound between the Windmill Public House and Elwick Village junctions, near Hartlepool, shortly after 2am.
The motorist is in James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
The tractor driver was unhurt.
Witnesses are asked to call Cleveland Police on 01642 326326, quoting event number T147649.
