PODIUM success was achieved as four Warrington drivers competed at the British Racing and Sports Car Club meeting at Oulton Park.

Following his victory at the previous race meeting, Warrington’s John Farrell qualified in second place for the first Avon Tyres Formula Ford race.

He enjoyed a race-long battle at the front of the field before settling for the runner-up spot.

Farrell’s second race saw him repeat his second-place finish.

Chris Chisnall also competed in the Avon Tyres Formula Ford Championship.

He enjoyed a competitive battle to finish third after 11 laps.

Race two was a closer contest with Chisnall taking third again.

Lymm’s Barry Armstrong raced in the Formula Jedi Championship.

Armstrong had a strong first outing to finish in sixth spot but he was forced to retire from the second race with a mechanical problem.

Andrew Lennie raced his Ford Escort XR3i in the BRS Recovery Ford XR Challenge.

He qualified his car second in his class for race one, maintaining his position to finish second.

In the day’s second XR race, Lennie made up a couple of places before dropping back to finish fourth overall and third in his class.
