MGMT’s hotly anticipated second album holds many surprises.
The album is different to debut effort Oracular Spectacular, more alternative, instrumental and in some songs magical.
Front man Andrew VanWyngarden says: “It’s us trying to deal with all the craziness that’s been going on since our last album took off. Sometimes it just doesn’t feel natural.”
This delves deeper into the sprawling, psychedelic sounds that characterised the second half of the first album.
Track Someone’s Missing has the kind of chorus that will go down a treat with the festival crowds, while the compelling Congratulations is an irresistibly catchy soft summer tune.
MGMT have gone to new lengths with their latest project. (Out Now)
