Talks are to be held tonight between Radio One bosses and North-East protestors about a major dance festival.
Residents are worried that the radio station's day-long Love Parade festival, expected to attract 300,000 revellers to Newcastle Town Moor on Saturday, July 21, could lead to unacceptable noise and disorder.
They cite last year's inaugural party in Leeds which is estimated to have cost £250,000 to clean up.
Radio One bosses, who will meet protestors at Jesmond Methodist Church, said last year's event, attended by 118,000, earned shops, cabbies and other businesses £13.8m.
The country's leading dance DJs and the top clubs in the country are expected to take part in the event.
