IT was a bad day at the office for Cricketers Hotel who were dominated by Post Boy from the kick-off and were 4-1 down at the interval.

Cricketers only consolation was a penalty converted by David Lewis. Post Boy continued their domination in the second half and called a halt at seven. Post Boy scorers were Peter Robinson (2), Darren Hewitson, John Booth, John Harrison, Michael Armstrong and Paul Robson.

East End WMC maintained their good run of form with a hard-earned 3-0 win against RA Social while Cleveland Bridge kept up their title challenge with a comfortable 5-0 victory at Shuttle and Loom. Scorers for Bridge were Fred Hall, Lee Cloke, Ross Ainslie, Wayne Buckley and Duane Beagle.

However, on Saturday, Bridge conceded the initiative to Newton Aycliffe when in a hard-fought encounter they went down 3-0 at home to East End WMC for whom Paul Tunstall, Shaun Collins and Steven Johnson scored.

Darren Hewitson (3), Paul Robson, Jamie Watson, John Booth and stand-in keeper Michael Armstrong were scorers.

RA Social dominated the first-half against Cricketers and turned round three up. Scorers for RA were Steven Boyle (2), Mark Eyles, Peter Gormley, Nigel Clarke, Andrew Wetherell and sub Andrew Wedgewood.

Killinghall Arms adapted better than hosts Speedy Hire to a hard, uneven pitch at Haughton School and led 3-2 at the interval with goals from John Robson (2) and an own goal. However, Speedy Hire turned things round in the second-half to run out 5-3 winners. Speedy's scorers were Aaron Radstock (2), Graham Weir, Darren Watson and Barry Dodsworth.

Spraire and Shuttle and Loom met for the second week running and while Spraire again came out on top it was only by the odd goal in nine. Paul Soderman put Shuttle ahead after five minutes from the spot but Spraire equalised almost immediately when Steven Appleby shot home from 15 yards. Gavin Rose put Spraire ahead after 29 minutes, but Soderman equalised with a stunning volley from the edge of the box. After the turn around Spraire moved into a three-goal lead when Rose and Appleby got their seconds and Michael Mitchell got on the score-sheet. However, Soderman scored twice more to set up a nail-biting finish.

Visitors Northumbria Police needed a point in their clash at Billingham Wanderers to maintain their Premier League status and they got it with the scoreline finishing 2-2. Police started well with Mick Mullerkey shooting home from 20 yards after 15 minutes.

Billingham had a good chance when a Terry Murphy header looped over the bar, but they drew level with a goal from Keith Aldridge who netted from an Eric Barrett cross. In the second half the Police again took the lead with a well taken goal from Ross Dixon only to see Billingham again reply with a shot from Aldridge after good work by man of the match Jeff Kirton - playing his first game of the season after being missing through injury.

Stakeford Methodist Church, who had moved into second spot on goal difference for the first time this season, had a nasty shock on a neutral ground against Yarm Emmanuel who ran in five goals in the first half.
